WEEK 9 -- Dec. 6-12

Dear Parents and Students,

We hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving Break! This week we will be celebrating the second Sunday of Advent. We light two candles on the Advent Wreath and celebrate love.

One way we can share love, especially during these difficult times is by sending greetings to others. This can be done in many ways including Christmas greeting cards. This week we would like to share with you an opportunity to share love with others by making Christmas greeting cards to send to members of the parish.

We really appreciate all that you are doing as parents to not only help your children with their regular school work, but also in helping us to deliver a weekly CCD lesson to your children each Sunday. We also really appreciate all of the hard work the students are putting in each week!

Week 9 Assignment:

What are some ways that we can show love to others during the season of Advent and the Christmas holiday?

In order to help us keep track of attendance this week, please respond to the question above.

Optional Activity:

During Advent, we would normally complete an activity where we would make cards for members of our parish or residents at Saint Mary's Villa to share the love and joy of the season. Since we are not meeting for in person classes we wanted to give you the opportunity to continue this wonderful service activity. This is not a mandatory activity but wanted to ask for some families to volunteer.

What we would be looking for is for the children to make 1-2 Christmas/thank you cards for fellow parishioners in the medical/first responder fields. The children may make their own cards if they wish or there will be cards available if you would prefer to pick up those cards and have the children write a short message or draw a picture.

There will be a waterproof box outside the lower level entrance for you to drop off the cards if you would like to have the cards mailed by the church or you can mail them directly. When mailing out the cards please use the parish mailing address as the return address.

If you are interested in participating in this wonderful service activity please fill out this brief Google Form  -- https://forms.gle/aPFXg37CzNK4Z6bJA

Thanks,
Samantha Antosh and Donna West
