September 12, 2021

Dear Seventh Grade Parents,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 year of St. Eulalia’s Religious Education program. I am excited to be your child’s teachers this year, and I am looking forward to sharing my faith with them. I would like to take a moment to introduce myself.

My name is Kristi Cleveland, the children can address me as Ms. Kristi! I have been teaching CCD at St. Eulalia’s for 5 years now, 1 year as a substitute, 1 year as a 6th grade teacher, and 2 years as a 7th grade teacher! I also taught CCD in the NJ parish I grew up in prior to moving to PA 16 years ago. I have a 15 year old son who just started his sophomore year at NPHS and a 12 year old daughter who just started 7th grade at NPMS. My full-time job is with Fidelity Bank as the Branch Manager in the Peckville branch. My children and I reside in Madison Twp.

In-person classes will run from 9-10am on Sundays. If the NP school district is closed on Monday for a holiday weekend, we will not have religious ed classes the Sunday before. Please see the calendar that was sent with your registration letter or the online version on the parish website.

Any class announcements will be sent via email and Remind (see below for instructions on joining the Seventh Grade Remind class) and will be posted on this 7th grade web page.

Aside from the book materials, I will also be working with your child on preparing them to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

You are your child’s first teacher of the faith, but we thank you for sending them to our program.
Please never hesitate to reach out to either of us with questions or concerns.

Kristi A. Cleveland

To sign up for our 7th grade Remind please text @ste7thgr to 81010

Service Hours -- Confirmation Requirement: Students can track their Service Hours using our form. There is no difference between these tracking documents – some parents prefer the pdf while others have requested the spreadsheet! During their 7th and 8th grade years we ask all students to complete 20 hours (total) of volunteer service to their community and the parish to help them understand the connection between our faith and serving others. A key tenet to Catholic Social Justice Teaching.

If you have any questions whatsoever – please never hesitate to reach out to me. That’s what I’m here for!

Below is a brief outline of what children enrolled in St. Eulalia's Religious Education Program learn during Seventh Grade

Students begin the preparation process for the Sacrament of Confirmation which is a two-year program. The students by now have a better understanding of weekly scriptures and how they can apply the teachings of our faith to the world around them. In preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation the candidate prepares to research a saint whose name they will chose, a sponsor (someone who will mentor the candidate), and perform church and community service hours so as to better understand with faith comes action.

Sign Up for Religious Education -- You can complete the online registration form or download the PDF registration form. The completed PDF can be emailed back to Mrs. Clancy or printed and placed in the Offertory Box in the church, mailed to the parish office (ATTN: Alysia Clancy), or dropped off at the parish office.

If you are new to our parish, you can register online or download and complete the parish census form.
