Second Grade Resources

Information Emailed to All Parents on Wed. 4/28.

Good morning everyone – and congratulations to all our kiddos on receiving their First Reconciliation with such grace. They all did a wonderful job and we just want to thank all the parents again for helping to prep them.

LAST CLASS. Sunday, May 2nd

  • As Mrs. Seltenheim and Mrs. Talbot referenced in this week’s email with the two lessons, we will have a Zoom meeting for our last class this Sunday, 5/2 at 9am.
  • We will treat this like a mini-retreat for the children.
  • Here’s the link to participate in the Zoom -- https://binghamton.zoom.us/j/91352131227. Please note, Mr. Carey (our Director of Music and Liturgy) graciously set up the meeting for us on his Binghamton account as the parish Zoom account is being used by the 8th grade on Sunday morning.

Now … on to First Communion!

Please review this pdf we put together about the proper way to receive First Communion at Saint Eulalia’s during COVID.

PRACTICE. Wednesday, 5/12 @ 6:30pm

  • Reminder that our practice on Wed. 5/12 now starts at 6:30pm to allow for cleaning after the Ascension vigil mass.
  • I strongly encourage you to bring your child to the Ascension vigil (Wed. 5/12 at 5:30pm). The more your child is comfortable being in the church and being familiar with the flow of mass in person the less anxious they will be on their First Communion day. Whenever you are at mass you should have your child walk up when you receive the eucharist – again, anything you can model for them helps them be more comfortable.
  • At least one parent should plan to attend the practice
  • Please bring your child’s completed banner to the practice. If anyone still needs a banner kit, or if you need extra pieces, please let me know ASAP
  • We continue to follow the CDC and PA Dept. of Health guidelines for indoor events so everyone must wear a face mask at the practice. Please no bandanas or gaiters.

FIRST COMMUNIONS

  • Below is the schedule for both ceremonies.
  • Please plan to arrive no later than 11:45am.
  • Similar to First Reconciliation, each family will have a reserved pew. Please fill out this quick form to let me know how many people you expect to attend with you so I can ensure I reserve enough space for each family.
  • We continue to follow the CDC and PA Dept. of Health guidelines for indoor events so everyone, including your students, must wear a face mask at the ceremony. The face mask does not have to be white or navy. Please no bandanas or gaiters.
  • We expect the mass to take about an hour, perhaps a little longer based on the number of people attending. There are no additional sacramental pieces of the mass.

Again – here is the link to the RSVP form to let me know the number of people you will have attending --  https://forms.gle/xdkGMDM9cq4ZfjUJ7. Please complete this form by Friday, 5/7 (with the understanding that we know things change and you can certainly update the number if need be).

Alright – I know it’s a lot of information, but if I left out anything or if you have any questions you should know by now to feel free to email or call or text me  (570-574-9535) any time!

Enjoy this beautiful day,

Alysia
