QR Codes

The textbook (hardcopy and digital) incorporates QR codes (those black and white square boxes) linking to the publisher's website with videos, activities and other multimedia features.

Digital Edition -- If you are using the digital edition of the book you can simply tap or click the QR code box to open the multimedia website.

Hardcopy Edition -- Accessing the QR codes in the textbook depends on what device you are using --

  • iPhones and iPads: Open your camera app and point at the code (black/white square box) on the page of your book. You will be prompted to open your web browser to the Loyola Press Finding God website.


  • Android Devices (any smaryphone or tablet that is not made by Apple): Open the Google Play store, search for the app QR Code Reader / no ads (it's free) and follow instructions to install on your device. Once installed open the app and follow the directions to scan the code. Step-by-step directions with photos illustrated in Method #2 on this page.


  • On a computer running MicroSoft Windows: Open the MicroSoft store and search for the free QR Bar Code Scanner. Download, open, and folllow on-screen directions to use your computer's web camera. Step-by-step directions with photos illustrated in Method #3 on this page.


  • On a Mac: There isn't a built-in way to scan a QR code on your Mac, nor is there an app available to do so. If you want to scan a QR code, you'll have to use an online QR code scanner. Open the Web QR website at This website scans QR codes using your Mac's built-in webcam. Follow the set up directions. Step-by-step directions with photos illustrated in Method #4 on this page.
