WEEK 8 -- Nov. 22-28

Dear Parents and Students,

Excellent work again with the Thanksgiving Activity last week! We really enjoyed getting to see all of the wonderful things you are thankful for. We will not have a CCD class next Sunday, November 29. Please take next week as a break and time to enjoy the holiday and family. Not only will we be celebrating Thanksgiving on Thursday, but next Sunday is the beginning of the Advent Season.

During the Advent Season we prepare for the birth of Jesus and the arrival of Christmas. On the first Sunday of Advent we light the first purple candle of the Advent Wreath and celebrate hope. In order to help us learn a little bit more about the season and help prepare our hearts for Jesus' birth, we are going to take a look at Session 10 "Celebrating Advent."

We really appreciate all that you are doing as parents to not only help your children with their regular school work, but also in helping us to deliver a weekly CCD lesson to your children each Sunday. We also really appreciate all of the hard work the students are putting in each week!

Week 8 Assignment:

Please complete Session 10 "Celebrating Advent" in your textbook on pages 79 - 84

In order to help us keep track of attendance this week, please share with us your answer to the activity on page 82, "Family Traditions." What is one special Advent Tradition that helps your family prepare to celebrate Jesus' birth? You may simply reply to this email with your answer or email a picture of your answer and picture from the book.

Have a happy, healthy, and safe Thanksgiving!
Thanks,
Samantha Antosh and Donna West

WEEK 7 -- Nov. 15-21

Dear Parents and Students,

Excellent work again with Session 5 last week! We have now completed Unit 1. This week we will take a break from our textbook and begin to prepare for the upcoming holiday seasons. With Thanksgiving right around the corner in just a couple of weeks, our activity this weekend will be to think about thanking God for the things we have. This can be people, pets, objects, etc. Please also continue to pray together as a family as well.

On Thanksgiving you may want to pray a special Thanksgiving prayer or you may use some of the mealtime prayers from page 247 in your book. Regardless of which prayer you use, Thanksgiving is a great time to pray together as a family.

We really appreciate all that you are doing as parents to not only help your children with their regular school work, but also in helping us to deliver a weekly CCD lesson to your children each Sunday. We also really appreciate all of the hard work the students are putting in each week!

Week 7 Assignment: Please complete the attached worksheet about Thanksgiving. You may print or complete the activity using your computer, whichever works best for you.

Directions: Please fill in 6 things you are thankful for using the lines provided. When you are finished, you may color the pictures. Then, use this sheet on Thanksgiving to help you to remember the things you would like to thank God for.

In order to help us keep track of attendance this week, you can share with us pictures of your completed activity, the document completed on your computer, or you may email some of the things you are thankful for.

Thank You God For... Worksheet

Have a wonderful week!

Thanks,
Samantha Antosh and Donna West

Below is a brief outline of what children enrolled in St. Eulalia's Religious Education Program learn during Third Grade

Building upon the excitement of First Holy Communion and the base of knowledge students received in Kindergarten, First and Second grades, students in the Third Grade continue to learn about the church's liturgical year and holidays. They are taught about the rosary and bible.
